The Virginia Law Foundation proudly supports the Hill Tucker Pre-Law Institute, named for legendary civil rights attorneys Oliver Hill and Samuel Tucker. High school students from all over Virginia participate in a week-long introduction to the practice of law. The Institute reaches future lawyers at an early age to provide them with exposure and opportunity to explore the legal profession, all at no cost to the participants. Students attend mock classes, as well as seminars on law-related career opportunities, test taking strategies, the college admissions process, and more.
Members of the judiciary, lawyers, legislators, and representative of the Virginia Law Foundation have all participated in the Institute as teachers, judges and mentors for the students. The Foundation has contributed more than $75,000 toward its ongoing success of the Hill Tucker Pre-Law Institute since 2005.
